 Hi, welcome to ReelExplained.

This site started because I kept doing the same thing after every movie I watched — sitting there afterward trying to piece together what actually happened, why a character made the choice they made, or what that one confusing scene near the end was actually trying to say. At some point I figured other people were probably doing the exact same thing, so I started writing it all down instead of just keeping it in my head.

So that's really what ReelExplained is. I watch a movie, I break down the story in a way that actually makes sense, and I add my own take on the parts that stood out to me — the twists, the character decisions, the endings that leave you with more questions than answers. Sometimes that means a full plot explanation for people who haven't seen the film yet and just want to understand it. Sometimes it means answering the specific questions people are already asking after watching it themselves.

I'm not trying to write like a film critic with a checklist of technical terms. I'm just someone who loves movies and likes talking about them the way you would with a friend after leaving the theater — what worked, what didn't, what that ending actually meant.
